I can’t say we didn’t see it coming, but now Columbia is without a reputable mid-size venue. The State is reporting that a new entertainment venture will open in the venue in the coming months. Former Carolina Panthers running back and Spartanburg native Stephen Davis plans to develop the space. Davis currently owns Tabu Nightlife.
Headliner’s has been on shaky ground for the last 4 years with inconsistent show booking and changes in management/ownership.
With steady management and ownership the Headliners venue could be a major plus for the Columbia music scene. They have after all hosted some great shows over the years. The State is reporting that All In Entertainment, who does booking for Amos’s Southend and The Music Farm, has met with future owners of the venue about booking for the new complex.
