What’s the first album you remember loving as a kid?
I really loved E. 1999 Eternal by Bone Thugs N Harmony and Spice by the Spice Girls. My taste was all over the place when I was a kid, mostly because of 1990s MTV, radio, and my parents’ music all blending together.
What as the first album you purchased at Papa Jazz?
I think the first thing I bought at Papa Jazz was Jail Break by Thin Lizzy on cassette.
What’s the most recent album you bought or have been listening to lately?
I’ve been listening to a lot of cumbia lately. Los Hijos Del Sol are really sick. I also like this modern cumbia/weird dance duo called Dengue Dengue Dengue. I’m pretty stoked on Fingertips’ new EP “Planet 21” as well.
What was the first local band that caught your ear?
I’ve always loved William Busbee’s songs, whether he’s solo or with The Choir Quit.
Tell us a little about the projects and music you’ve released since the pandemic started?
Since the Pandemic hit, I’ve been preparing a Kid Trails EP. I don’t know when it’ll drop exactly but sometime this year. I have also been making stuff with Sludgepony. She is a dope song writer. It’s been fun to help bring some of her ideas to life via music and video. There’s more Sludgepony stuff on the way. I’ve been working on a not so secret project with my friend Jonny Esser out in California, emailing tracks back and forth. I’ve been trying to get in to writing theme songs/jingles, but so far I’ve only had 2 commissions haha. Hit me up if you need a jingle!
