When Dylan Sneed came to South Carolina for the first time on his Texodus tour to Hartsville we were there. Not only was the Scene SC team there, but I was drunk. I got drunk enough to chat Dylan’s ear off for 30 minutes. I was drunk enough to buy every CD Dylan had for sale, because not only did I enjoy his music, but I wanted to help him out. I believed in him after the first time I saw him live. Since that day in September 2008, we’ve had the opportunity to see Dylan in his new home town of Hartsville, at a Cafe in Columbia and at The White Mule and everytime we ask him when the new album is coming out?
So here is our chance to make it happen. Dylan is asking for our help in making this Texodus album a reality and he is half way to his goal of $6,000. You’ll notice on the side of the page a meter with how much he has already raised. The trick is this though, if he doesn’t raise $6,000 he doesn’t get anything. So he needs our help in making this happen. I can guarantee you it will be one of the best albums to come out of this state this year and something we can all be proud of.
Hello friends.
I’m recording a full-length record in April. The album will be called “Texodus.” I left my home of Texas a little over a year ago, and many of the songs that will be on the record are my reflections on home.
Along with two other musicians, I will travel to a small cabin in rural South Carolina in the middle of April. There we will set up shop and track the album in 2 or 3 days.
The money I raise through Kickstarter is for all the typical recording expenses: recording, mixing, mastering, and duplication. I will also be compensating the musicians for their travel expenses.
Thank you so much for checking out my project. If you want to listen to some of my music or learn more about me, please visit the links below.
Thanks for supporting independent music,
Dylan
