The Avett Brothers are finally coming back to Columbia to play at the State Fair and hopefully this time it won’t get rained out. The last time they were here at the St. Pat’s festival thunderstorms canceled their set.
The Avett Bros. will be joining a stacked lineup including home town hero Darius Rucker, Boyz II Men and Miranda Lambert. No wonder the states budget didn’t balance! Boyz II Men are priceless.
I wanted to make a “I thought it would take them a couple of more years to hit the state fair circuit,” but that joke doesn’t really work the same with these guys, who made their name playing festivals and fairs across the southeast over the last decade.
Having the Avett Brothers in town is kind of huge. They sell out everything and are well worth their price tag. The Rock Hill Herald reported earlier this year that their asking price is over 100,000 these days. Dollars. US currency.
This August, they will be playing 3 nights in a row in Myrtle Beach at the House of Blues.
No word yet on whether or not they like the fried snickers or the fried twix better or if they are going to ride Pharaoh’s Fury or the Zipper.
