Stepdad w/ One Two Skidoo, Nathan K, and Toucans
Thursday, July 7 Â $5 over/$8 under
New Brookland Tavern  Doors at 8pm
This is the one show coming to Columbia that in a few months, you’re going to regret not going to. Stepdad come from Grand Rapids, Michigan where they have been making a huge impact and now it’s time for the rest of the US to follow. They have recently been in Brooklyn recording their debut album Wildlife Pop with Chris Zane, the producer of Passion Pit’s Manners and both of The Walkmen’s albums among many others. It’s absolutely going to make a huge impact on the music scene as there is no way you can listen to this music and NOT dance.
And that’s what you’re going to be doing on Thursday. Just after getting off a tour with Fitz & The Tantrums, Stepdad are going to be playing at New Brookland Tavern, and it’s going to be nuts. Openers including local act Toucans (brainchild of Will Flourance), Nathan K (played at House of Softcore a few months ago, crazy awesome), and One Two Skidoo (I promise you, they will knock your socks off and make you party). So get up on this show. Dance like there’s no tomorrow.
An unreleased (until now) Stepdad song just came out and you can download that for free here:Â http://revue.bandcamp.com/track/magic-stones and if you check out http://www.stepdad.us you can find a plethora of free, awesome stuff.
Also, their music video is the bomb:Â My Leather, My Fur, My Nails
