Earlier this summer, we had dinner at the Hot Fish Club in Murrells Inlet. It was my first time at the iconic spot that’s been around since 1792. Over the centuries, the bar and restaurant has survived countless hurricanes and welcomed waves of tourists who flock to the local bars and restaurants along the marsh walk. The Hot Fish Club is one of many spots along the Carolina coast where out-of-towners go to enjoy their vacation and let loose a little bit, especially with the help of some live music.

When I caught up with Jared Petteys ahead of the release of his band’s new single “Just Go Baby,” we chatted about the Murrells Inlet bars where they’ve performed and a few other spots in SC where live music thrives into the night.
