SceneSC stretched its reach beyond the Southeast, following Charleston’s Brave Baby to Boston, Massachusetts, where the band opened for WILLIS at the legendary Paradise Rock Club. Not long after, they brought their indie rock charm to a more local haunt, Amos’ Southend in Charlotte, sharing the stage with Jack Stepanian and Wim Tapley.

The tour comes on the heels of their latest album, 3x Blood, released in September 2024. Brave Baby’s setlists were a blend of fresh releases and nostalgic favorites from nearly a decade ago — a testament to their enduring chemistry as a band.

In Boston, the Paradise Rock Club buzzed with the energy of college kids, their bodies swaying and heads nodding along to the band’s lush guitar riffs and soulful vocals. The music seemed to fill the venue under the club’s dim lights, creating a warm and nostalgic vibe for this Southern band.

At Amos’ Southend, a slightly older crowd trickled in on a Thursday night, shaking off some workday blues with a craft beer and Southern indie expectations. Once again, Brave Baby launched into their set, letting the jangly guitars and smooth, earnest vocals wash over the room like a welcome breeze. It felt like an early weekend — a momentary escape wrapped in the familiar comfort of Southern indie rock.

In both cities, Brave Baby delivered a show rich with nostalgia and renewed passion, blending classic indie rock sensibilities with a hint of Charleston charm. Their bond as a band felt as integral to the performance as the music itself.

Catch Brave Baby at their next hometown show in Charleston at The Refinery on May 9, and dive into their latest album3x blood.
